Ben Harris is the Maker behind Harris Educational, a small Maker business that produces educational STEM kits that are used in schools and by hobbyists. Harris Educational uses Digital Fabrication technology to produce kits like Reinventing Edison: Build your own Light Bulb and the new EV Challenge Troubleshooting Simulator.
Ben has also launched a maker community called the Alamance Makers Guild in Alamance County North Carolina (home to Harris Educational) and with their help he produces the Burlington Mini Maker Faire (in its 4th year in 2015). Ben’s ultimate goal is to launch a Maker Space in Alamance County with a heavy educational focus.
For his efforts Ben was picked as one of 16 “Honored Maker Attendees” and asked as a guest to attend the first ever White House Maker Faire in June 2014.
In addition to everything else Ben is also now a blogger for Make Magazine.
For Maker Faire Atlanta Harris Educational will be demonstrating hands-on Science Kits including the Reinventing Science Kits and the EV Challenge Troubleshooting Simulator (a training tool that simulates the circuitry of an Electric Vehicle).
Maker Faire Atlanta will be Ben’s 8th Maker Faire appearance in 2014!
