CALL FOR MAKERS

“Maker Faire offers the opportunity for us to see ourselves as more than consumers; we are productive; we are creative. Everyone is a maker and our world is what we make it.” – Dale Dougherty

It’s a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. It’s a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it. Many makers say they have no other place to share what they do. DIY is often invisible in our communities, taking place in shops, garages and on kitchen tables. It’s typically out of the spotlight of traditional art or science or craft events. Maker Faire makes visible these projects and ideas that we don’t encounter every day.

Atlanta Mini Maker Faire is primarily designed to be forward-looking,  featuring innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft. Many makers are hobbyists, enthusiasts, or students, and are a wellspring of innovation. Some makers are traditional artisans and craftsmen, while some break new ground in robotics and biotechnology.

The Maker movement is growing quickly worldwide. Makerspaces, BioLabs, Crafting Guilds, and other community tinkering workshops have popped up in nearly every major city in the world. Spearheaded by Make Magazine and it’s founder Dale Dougherty, Maker Faire showcases the best and brightest Atlanta has to offer. We want you to join us!

We’re inviting Makers of all ages, with all sorts of projects. Hands – on is great! We’re also inviting speakers to share Maker-related information, stories, and new tech.
