CARNIVAL : We want to show kids how to make their own fun and games using found objects. Our carnival will feature a catapult basketball, modified skee ball, mazes, and chain reaction contraptions. The cost to play is a reusable or recyclable object.
SCIENCE : We will also have some of our biology students demonstrate “robotic” limbs and explain how tendons, joints and muscles work together. These limbs are made from cardboard and string and we’ll tell students how to make them at home. Kids are invited to play student created Operation style games.
MAKING : Kids will be invited to create an upcycled craft, paper airplane or parachute man, or Adinkra Lever Robot.
STUDENT PROJECTS : Student projects in robotics and making
RECYCLING EFFORT: We’re collecting “garbage” for our Terracycle fundraising efforts and future projects. Chip bags/snack wrappers, plastic bottle lids and soda can tops.
