Call for Makers is Now Open!
Read through all the fine print below, submit your application, and then expect to hear back from us in two weeks or so.
Maker Faire showcases the amazing work of all kinds and ages of makers—anyone who is embracing the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.
The first step to participating in Maker Faire is to submit an entry form. We encourage exhibits that are interactive and highlight the process of making things. Please be as descriptive as possible to speed the application process. Review the two application types below.
Things are a little different this year: we are using a more general form initially, and after accepting you, we will ask you to fill out another form with more details (booth size, electrical requirements, etc). Once you submit THAT form and send us a $50 deposit (for non-commercial makers) or a $100 fee (for commercial makers) via Paypal, you’ll be good to go.
Maker Exhibit ($50 refundable deposit): Individuals, groups, and K-12 schools that would like to demonstrate what they make and/or how it works in an all-weekend interactive exhibit space. For maker groups, please have one point person to coordinate your efforts.
Commercial Makers ($100 fee): Individuals who would like to sell or market products along with demonstrating what they make at their Maker Exhibit. Submit an application and indicate that you are a Commercial Maker. There is a fee of $100 for a standard set-up (fee due upon acceptance).
Payment details will be emailed to you upon application acceptance and is required to be placed in the layout.
Please note, established companies or commercial entities do not qualify as Commercial Makers; we have great opportunities available for you—please see our sponsorship opportunities below.
Sponsorship Opportunties We offer a variety of sponsorship opportunities and are eager to work with you to create a custom presence for you onsite that will meet your marketing goals and budget. The application deadline is Friday, August 21. Don’t delay! We are reviewing applications daily. The sooner you submit your application for review, the sooner you’ll hear back from us, and the better the spot you’ll get on our map!
Acceptance indicates we have accepted the concept of your exhibit; however, it does not guarantee that we can accommodate all requests.
In order to secure your spot as a maker, you’ll have to put down a $50 deposit via Paypal to guarantee your space. This money is 100% refundable as long as you show up for the Faire. If something comes up more than two weeks out, let us know and we’ll be able to refund your money. Outside of that though, we won’t be able to give it back. (We’re sorry to have to do this, but no-shows have cost us a substantial amount of money in the past, and this is our solution to that problem.)
